Chimu Checker Stole C002
The Chimu Checker Stole / Shawl has been inspired by the colours, forms and symbols of the Chimu culture (North of Peru, 900AD - circa 1470AD)
The Chimu people are best known for their extraordinary monochromatic pottery and their fine metal work. Their textiles include open-armed figures wearing headdresses - possible portraits of the ruling class - and double-headed snakes.
This piece is part of the Amano by Sol Alpaca collection which contributes to the ongoing restoration work, research and maintenance of the Amano Museum in Lima, Peru.
